Columbia's Clone Wars Collection is Here

Columbia Sportswear has been creating Star Wars collections for the past few years, covering various periods, like the Original Trilogy with Empire Strikes Back to Rogue One, and now their latest collection features styles The Clone Wars when our favorite heroes visit icy worlds. The styles include an Anakin and Obi-Wan themed parka based off the Season 1 episode Trespass when they visit the Pantoran moon Orto Plutonia and an Ahsoka jacket based off the Season 4 episode A Friend in Need when she visits Carlac. In addition to the winter coats, heavyweight pullovers and baseball caps inspired by Anakin and Obi-Wan's snow parka are also part of the collection. When this collection was announced, I was elated; I cannot emphasize how long I have waited for a replica of Ahsoka's snow parka to make its way to our galaxy.

In exchange for an honest review, Columbia sent an Ahsoka coat and over the past three weeks I have tested its durability against the north's Hoth-like winter, even during a blizzard at one point, and it did not disappoint. The technology in the coat is supposed to absorb your body heat to keep you warm - that's what the pretty reflective golden dots lining the coat are - and it does just that. An issue I've had with winter coats is finding one that keeps the heat in longer than merely the first few minutes you're outside, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Ahsoka jacket kept me warm in below freezing conditions.

Another common issue I face with winter coats is finding the right arm length, oftentimes ending up with sleeves that are too short despite going up a size. Again, to my surprise, the sleeve length on the Ahsoka jacked fit me perfectly, and to make it better, the arms have a separate piece of fabric that is longer than the coat sleeve itself to ensure even your wrists are covered (the extra fabric even has thumb holes.)

As an Ahsoka fan and someone who lives where it feels like Carlac part of the year, I could not be happier with a stylish, show-accurate coat that does its job. As of writing this review, most of Columbia's Clone Wars collection is sold out; however, the Anakin and Obi-Wan parkas are still available in limited sizes which can be found here.
