God of War Show Coming to Prime Video

A live-action adaptation of Sony's popular gaming franchise "God of War" has been ordered at Amazon Prime Video. Based on the 2018 game, the show will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they set off on their journey to spread fulfill his late wife's final wish: to spread her ashes from the highest peak in all the realms. Kratos will soon realize there is more to this journey than initially meets the eye, and his travels with Atreus will test the bond of father and son as they discover secrets that will impact the world.

The show will be a co-production between Amazon Studios and Sony Picture Television in association with PlayStation Productions. Santa Monica Studio’s studio creative director Cory Barlog will serve as executive producer - in addition to Playstation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, Santa Monica Studio’s Yumi Yang and Vertigo’s Roy Lee - alongside Rafe Judkins and writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.
